Kite festival.
Is it a bird? A plane? A flying unicorn? The answer could be yes to all three at the Adelaide International Kite Festival, with enthusiasts flying kites of all shapes, colours and sizes.
The popular free event, now in its 27th year, takes place on Semaphore Beach and is run by the Adelaide Kite Flyers Association.
Sit back and watch the professionals show off their skills, or head to the designated play zone where visitors are welcome to fly their own kite (or purchase one at the festival).
A beachside marketplace offering food, drinks and interactive activities makes this event a great day out for the whole family over the Easter long weekend.

Active family fun.
Explore the great outdoors by bike or on foot along the family-friendly three kilometre Smith Creek Trail, which runs from Stebonheath Park at Andrews Farm to Smithfield Plains.
Along the way you’ll visit Smithfield Civic Gardens, Uley Road Sports Ovals and Craigmore Park, with a number of playgrounds and reserves also accessible via the trail.
The majority of the trail is bitumen or pavers, making it safe and easy to navigate for little ones learning to ride or those with mobility issues.
Use the trail maps to find points of interest, including permanent artwork made by local primary school children.
