Four great placed to walk your furry-friend near Eyre.
International Dog Day (Monday 26 August) is the perfect time to celebrate with your furry friend by exploring some beautiful walking tracks near Eyre.
Our community is dotted with a number of neighbourhood parks, as well as sporting fields and nature trails that weave along nearby Smith Creek, offering plenty of dog walking opportunities on your doorstep.
Whether you're looking for a challenging hike or a leisurely stroll, here are some top spots to take your dog for a walk close to home:
Cobbler Creek Recreation Park
Cobbler Creek Recreation Park offers an oasis of calm in the suburbs. You can walk your dog in this park as long as it remains on a lead. Here are some of our favourite walks in the park:
- Mia Tappa Circuit (Moderate Hike)
- Valley Circuit (Hard Hike)
- Babbler Loop (Hard Hike)

Anstey Hill Recreation Park
Anstey Hill Recreation Park features ten marked trails and a bonus route, providing plenty of options for dog walks. The trails, include loops departing from various trailheads. Three trails are exclusively for walkers. Here are some of our favourites:
- Newmans Nursery Ruins Walk (Moderate Walk)
- Yellowtail Loop (Hard Hike)
- Wildflower Wander (Hard Hike)

Little Para River Trail, Salisbury
The Little Para River Trail stretches 14km from the hilly east to Barker Inlet in the west. You can choose a section of the trail to explore, with areas featuring remnant eucalyptus woodlands, grasslands, samphire, and mangroves.

Para Wirra Conservation Park
Para Wirra Conservation Park boasts 13 marked trails, extensive grassy areas, a relaxing lakeside, and a beautiful bush setting. The park is a popular spot for family gatherings and dog walks, with recent upgrades enhancing the trails, picnic areas, and camping facilities. On-leash dogs are welcome in the park.
